The Bon Secours Psychiatry and Behavioral Health team is adding a Psychiatrist to the team at Maryview Medical Center in Portsmouth, VA - Part of the "757" Coastal Hampton Roads/Tidewater Region!
This is a great opportunity to join a growing program committed to serving the needs of an underserved community.
- Licensed MD/DO - Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
- Full time position - M-F 8 hour days
- Inpatient Adult Behavioral Health Unit coverage providing care for patients with psychiatric and substance use disorders, consults on medical floors, review of admissions from the ED and external hospitals or providers.
- Call coverage:
- 1:4 Weekend Rounding (1 weekend every 5 weeks) 4:00 PM Fri - 8:00 AM Mon.
- 1 to 2 week nights per week 4:00 PM - 8:00 AM
- Both include cross coverage from units and admission calls
- Practice Support: 1:8 - One RN to every 8 patients and 1:6 - One Behavioral Health tech to every 6 patients
- Great Support and Resources for you and your patients - LCSW, LPC, BSW, Art Therapist, Music Therapist, Recreation Therapist, RN Clinical Coordinators and Nurse Manager.
- Average 8-12 patients per day
- Patient ages - 18+ and approx. 70% adult, 30% geriatric
- Opportunity to mentor medical students
- Mentorship available by Medical Director
