Cleveland Clinic is seeking a full-time outpatient psychologist specializing in Wellness and Substance Use Disorders with a focus on working with unique populations (i.e., executive health, impaired healthcare professionals, etc.). This hybrid position will support Cleveland Clinic Wellness, the Alcohol and Drug Recovery Center and the Center for Executive Health. CC Wellness focuses on implementing evidence-based nonpharmacologic and lifestyle interventions to prevent disease, improve quality of life, and manage chronic conditions such as chronic pain, mood disorders, and cardiometabolic disorders.
Additionally, Cleveland Clinic supports an Alcohol and Drug Recovery Center (ADRC) that includes an interdisciplinary, 16-bed hospital unit, intensive outpatient treatment programs and outpatient clinic, as well as clinical research opportunities in collaboration with other research centers at Cleveland Clinic. The ADRC has a long history of providing behavioral health services to impaired healthcare professionals, executives, professional athletes and other unique sub-groups. Beyond providing clinical services, the ADRC provides teaching to medical students at three local medical school programs, including Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine (CCLCM). In addition, the group participates in the teaching of many physicians in training, including at least three core psychiatry residencies in the area, one of the addiction medicine fellowships, and a lead role in the only addiction psychiatry fellowship in the area. Opportunities for mentoring of counselors abound and some involvement is expected, as well as CEU/CME opportunities such as Grand Rounds presentations and CEU/CME course presentations, with or without associated original research.
Additionally, this position would offer opportunities to engage in a multidisciplinary collaborative environment for research across departments and centers. The successful applicant will be appointed to the CCLCM at a level commensurate with experience. The psychologist would have the opportunity to lead group interventions with high-achieving people in continuing recovery as well as a very well-developed and respected outpatient treatment program for physicians and other health professionals.
