Job Summary

  • Provides medical services and health education to patients under the supervision of the physician sponsor with regards to the age specific populations including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics.
  • Effectively contributes to the health education of individuals and groups and applies appropriate methods designed to increase each persons motivation to assume responsibility for their own health care.
  • Meets regularly with the physician sponsor for consultation, supervision and collaboration. 
  • Assesses, diagnoses and treats patients in the hospital according to medical staff approved protocol and acceptable standards of practice.

Education and/or Experience

  • Graduate of an NLN accredited school of nursing or equivalent; graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program required.
  • Masters degree required.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

  • An active CNP license is required. 
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of South Dakota and/or meeting the requirements of Multi-state licensure required. 
  • Federal and State DEA certification is required for South Dakota and Iowa employees.
  • ATLS and ACLS certifications required.

Work Schedule

  • Full Time, Varied Shifts; 80 hours every 2 weeks
  • Every 4th weekend & holiday
  • Every third week night & Every 4th weekend call time
