A general practitioner is a physician who examines, manages, and treats acute and/or chronic illnesses. Another duty of a general practitioner includes educating patients and providing preventative care to them if needed. A general practitioner works to create a healthy individual as whole dealing with the biological, psychological, and social factors that may contribute to an illness of condition of a patient.
