About Hematology/Oncology Careers
Hematology is the diagnosis, management and treatment of patients with a wide variety of blood and neoplastic disorders, and organ-specific cancers.
Physicians in this special may perform radiation to patients and oversee all of a cancer patients care. Along with radiation, proper medication or other therapies may be administered to patients needing care.
The demand for physicians is increasing due to the increasing age and health issues relating to this specialty in the population. (see Oncology for more detail).
