A pediatric pulmonologist is a physician that focuses on children who have issues within their lungs. The respiratory system is prominent in this specialty. Breathing abnormalities of difficulty breathing are a few common issues that this type of physician may come across. Other conditions include patients with chronic coughing, a reoccurring case of lung disease, apnea, cystic fibrosis cases, noisy breathing in a child, serve or chronic pneumonia or other infection within the lungs in a patient, or airway inflammations and issues such as asthma. The distribution and education of breathing treatments is one of the largest types of treatments within this specialty.
