Position Details:

• Position Title: Staff Physician, Radiation Oncologist
• Location: Audie L. Murphy VA Medical Center, San Antonio, Texas
• Department: Section of Radiation Oncology, Department of Imaging Services
• Full-Time Equivalents Needed: 1

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality direct patient care adhering to national and VA quality measures.
• Supervise and teach medical students and residents, fostering an environment of learning and collaboration.
• No brachy, peds, or gyn.
• Actively participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards, clinical, academic, administrative committees, and quality assurance programs.
• Engage in research opportunities supported by the VA and our academic affiliate, MD Anderson Mays Cancer Center.

Preferred Qualifications:

• MD/DO degree with Board Certification in Radiation Oncology (American Board of Radiology).
• Experience with Mim and Raystation software.
• Previous experience with the VA is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Proposed salary range: $375,000 – $385,000 with the potential for performance pay up to $15,000.
• Incentives offered: Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), relocation assistance, and sign-on bonuses.

Work Schedule:

• Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
• Limited on-call responsibilities, shared among three providers.

Academic Opportunities:

• Faculty appointment available with potential for adjoint professorship at UT Health San Antonio's Radiation Oncology program.
