Join Our Team as a Locum Physician in General Medicine – Houston, TX

We are currently recruiting a highly qualified Locum Physician to provide top-quality care in the Houston, TX area. In this position, you'll perform non-treatment Compensation and Pension examinations, as well as Separation Health Assessments, primarily through interview-based evaluations complemented by physical assessments such as range of motion and muscle strength testing. Your expertise will help Veterans receive the benefits they deserve, making a tangible impact on their lives.
Required Skills:
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
- Active license to practice medicine in Texas
- Proven experience in General Medicine, Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery, or related fields
- Strong assessment and diagnostic skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Nice to Have Skills:
- Prior experience with compensation and pension examinations
- Familiarity with Veteran healthcare services
- Certification in relevant medical specialties or VA-specific training
- Experience with physical assessments and diagnostic interpretation
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Medical degree (MD or DO) with unrestricted Texas medical license
- At least 2 years of clinical practice in general medicine or related fields
- Previous experience in evaluating Veterans or performing C&P exams is a plus
Other Requirements:
- Must have own office within 50 miles of Houston, TX (for providers using their own facility)
- Willing to perform exams on a PRN basis, including occasional half-day (4 hours) or full-day (8 hours) shifts
- Quick credentialing and onboarding process
- Valid DEA certification and other necessary state or federal licenses
- No travel expenses reimbursed outside of rates; no certification or portal training reimbursement
This opportunity offers a highly competitive hourly pay rate of $624.00, with no overtime or holiday rates applicable. Successful completion of training and initial exams will include a one-time bonus of $650. Local candidates only.
