Emergency Department:

Level I Trauma Center

113,000 annual ED visits

80-90 hours of physician coverage per day

BUMC runs 3-5 APP shifts each day (10 hour shifts)

• 7a-5p, 11a-9p, 5p-3a - Sat & Sun
• 7a-5p, 8a-6p, 3p-1a, 5p-3a - Mon-Fri

POD System (A-E)

• A - Trauma Pod
• B-E - General Medicine

MSE shifts Wed-Fri

11 physician shifts each day

EM residency program

• APP's will work with residents

APP's must have at least 1 year experience in an emergency department setting, no new grads please.
