About the Position:
Parkland Health Careers invites passionate and dedicated physicians to join our innovative Value-Based Care Clinic in Dallas, Texas, as a Staff Physician specializing in Internal Medicine. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead and teach within a dynamic academic environment committed to health equity, quality improvement, and community-centered care. You will serve as core faculty for the Internal Medicine Health Equity Track, mentoring residents and advancing innovative healthcare practices that reduce disparities and improve patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Practice & Patient Care - Provide comprehensive, evidence-based Internal Medicine care within the Value-Based Care Clinic, emphasizing population health and social determinants of health.
- Utilize health equity-focused, risk stratification, and care coordination tools to optimize patient outcomes and minimize disparities.
- Deliver coordinated, team-based care alongside care managers, pharmacists, social workers, behavioral health specialists, and community partners.
- Help establish and refine standard practices aligned with value-based care principles and best practices.
Teaching & Educational Leadership - Serve as core faculty for the Internal Medicine Health Equity Track, supervising and mentoring residents in clinical, research, and scholarly activities.
- Lead educational initiatives such as journal clubs, lecture series, case conferences, and resident workshops.
- Teach residents to incorporate social determinants, community-engaged approaches, and equity-centered decision-making into their practice.
- Provide ongoing formative and summative feedback to support residents' professional growth.
- Collaborate with residency and program leadership to develop curricula aligned with ACGME competencies and institutional priorities.
Quality Improvement & Research - Mentor residents in quality improvement projects and health equity research.
- Participate actively in departmental and interdisciplinary quality initiatives, using performance data to inform practice improvements.
- Support operational plans aimed at enhancing clinical workflows, addressing clinical, regulatory, and operational challenges.
Collaborative & Interdisciplinary Engagement - Participate in hospital and community health initiatives focused on reducing disparities.
- Partner with GME personnel and clinical teams at Parkland and UT Southwestern for program development and compliance.
- Demonstrate leadership by addressing complex clinical situations with innovative problem-solving and effective communication.
Qualifications:
- Board Certified in Internal Medicine (required).
- Valid medical license to practice in Texas or eligible for licensure.
- Proven experience in outpatient internal medicine, population health, or health equity initiatives preferred.
- Demonstrated commitment to health equity, social justice, and community-centered care.
- Strong teaching skills and experience mentoring medical residents or students.
- Experience with quality improvement methodologies and data-driven clinical practices.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills.
