Outpatient Endocrinology Practice

Position Overview

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (FNP, AGACNP or AGPCNP ) to join an established outpatient endocrinology practice in Fort Worth.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced APP who enjoys outpatient medicine and is interested in providing comprehensive care to patients with endocrine and metabolic conditions. The practice is physician-led, with one endocrinologist and no other APPs currently in the practice, providing an opportunity for the incoming provider to play an integral role in the growth and development of the practice.

Position Highlights

  • Outpatient endocrinology only
  • Monday-Friday clinic schedule
  • 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
  • No nights
  • No weekends
  • No traditional call
  • Practice call is managed by phone only
  • APP will provide coverage when the physician is out of the office
  • Opportunity to work closely with a new endocrinologist and help build the practice
  • Collaborative physician partnership with significant autonomy in patient care

Clinical Responsibilities

The APP will evaluate, diagnose, treat, and manage patients with a broad range of endocrine and metabolic conditions.

Areas of clinical practice may include:

  • Diabetes management
  • Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes
  • Insulin pump management
  • Continuous glucose monitoring (CGM)
  • GLP-1 therapy
  • Weight management and medical weight loss
  • Hormone therapy
  • Testosterone therapy
  • Thyroid disorders
  • Other common endocrine and metabolic conditions

The provider will develop individualized treatment plans, monitor treatment response, educate patients, adjust medications as appropriate, and coordinate care with the supervising endocrinologist and other members of the healthcare team.

Practice Call & Coverage

The APP will participate in practice call by telephone only. There is no expectation for overnight or weekend in-person coverage.

When the physician is out of the office, the APP may assist with practice coverage and patient needs, providing continuity of care and addressing appropriate clinical questions by phone.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have previous APP practice experience and be comfortable managing patients independently in an outpatient setting.

Preferred experience includes:

  • Endocrinology experience
  • Family Medicine
  • Primary Care
  • Internal Medicine
  • Diabetes management
  • Weight management

Candidates should be clinically confident, highly organized, patient-focused, and comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with the endocrinologist.

Qualifications

  • Masters or doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • Nurse Practitioner certification required
  • Current Texas APRN license and national board certification
  • Eligible for prescriptive authority in Texas
  • Eligible for hospital and/or system credentialing as applicable
  • Prior experience practicing as a Nurse Practitioner required
  • Strong clinical assessment, communication, and patient management skills

Physician Assistant candidates may also be considered.
