We Offer:


Student Loan Reimbursement ( up to $40,000 for five years).
Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases.
Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME).
Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA.
Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement).
Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory.

Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting.

Duties include:

 

The staff psychiatrist will perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations on Veterans who suffer from depression, anxiety, psychosis, PTSD, substance abuse and other psychiatric disorders using a patient-centered team approach.

 

  • Functions as a physician member of an interdisciplinary team consisting of mid-level providers, therapists, case managers and addiction therapists.
  • Conducts psychiatric evaluations, develops treatment plans, and implements treatment, and provides clinical management for a variety of complex mental health conditions, including, but not limited to: Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), substance abuse, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, psychosis, and other related conditions.
  • Treatment planning focuses on utilization of pharmacological interventions as well as appropriate referral for additional studies and/or for adjunctive psychosocial interventions.
  • Treatment planning also involves informing patients of risks, benefits, and alternative treatments and answering all questions.
  • Provide consultation to veterans' families/caregivers as well as mid-level providers and other professional staff on the assessment, education, and treatment of veterans with complex clinical problems.
  • Have a working knowledge of advanced psychopharmacology, substance abuse treatment, and psychotherapy. Incumbent will provide some services by way of tele-mental.


Work Schedule: 8 am to 4:30 pm
