MercyOne Northeast Iowa is seeking a BC/BE Family Medicine physician to serve as Assistant Program Director for the MercyOne Northeast Iowa Family Medicine Residency program in Waterloo, IA. This successful 4/4/4 program has been producing Family physicians for NE IA for over 44 years and has plans to soon expand to a 5/5/5 program. Join a team of dedicated Family Medicine Physicians who are passionate about graduate medical education and superior patient care.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Actively teach residents in inpatient and clinical practice
  • Oversee the education and performance of residents in an inpatient and outpatient setting.
  • OB optional
  • Office call 1:4 with nurse triage
  • No hospital calls.
  • Oversee 1-2 program wide quality improvement projects.
  • Provide 10-12 lectures on various topics throughout the year.
  • Act as advisor to approximately 5 resident physicians
  • Schedule - Typical half days as follows (may vary slightly for PTO, CEU, sick coverage):
    • 4 in patient care
    • 2-3 staffing resident clinic visits.
    • 1 in procedure clinic
    • 1 protected administrative time
    • 1 administrative time
    • 1 in conferences

Candidates will receive:

  • $260K salary guarantee x 2 years.
  • $40K Starting Bonus
  • $120K Longevity Bonuses ($40K at the completion of years 1, 2 & 3)
