The Department of Veterans Affairs Houston Healthcare System is seeking a full-time neuropsychologist position (40 hours/week; 80 hours/pay period) for the Alexandria VA Health Care System. The neuropsychologist provides direct patient care, teaching/training services, and program evaluation/outcomes services. Incumbent is responsible for the development and implementation of neuropsychological assessment and consultation specifically for veterans with neurocognitive related disorders. They effectively communicate with a wide range of healthcare staff and facility leadership and utilize existing evidence-based assessments as part of thorough test batteries to determine appropriate diagnosis and treatment of veterans exhibiting symptom of cognitive decline and/or dysfunction.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen (*will consider non- citizen candidates*)
- Full and unrestricted license from any U.S. State
- Doctoral degree in psychology from a graduate program in psychology accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA), the Psychological Clinical Science Accreditation System (PCSAS), or the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA)
- Completed a professional psychology internship training program that was accredited by APA or CPA
- Knowledge of, and ability to apply, professional psychological treatments to the full range of patient populations.
- Ability to provide professional advice and consultation in areas related to professional psychology and behavioral health.
- Active Board Certification (or considered Board Certification eligible) in clinical neuropsychology thru the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP/ABCN) or American Board of Neuropsychology (ABN).(Preferred)
