Valley Medical Group is looking for a motivated and compassionate Radiation Oncologist to join our growing practice.  Our current team consists of three experienced physicians who value collaboration and mentorship.  We are looking to add a fourth physician who will participate in the treatment and management of patients with prostate cancer.  Additionally, you would have the opportunity to share in the management of other disease sites depending on your interests.

ABOUT OUR DEPARTMENT

Our department is located at The Valley Hospitals Cancer Center on Valleys 40 acre health care campus.  There are no satellite clinics to travel to.  The Cancer Center also houses 10 medical oncologists, numerous oncologic surgeons from different specialties, clinical trials, breast imaging, pain management, genetics, social work, dieticians and outpatient operating rooms.

  • 3 Full time dosimetrists
  • 4 Full time physicists
  • 6 Full time oncology certified nurses
  • 10 Full time Radiation Therapists
  • 1 Full time Nurse Practitioner

Our department of Radiation Oncology prides itself on providing the most advanced and effective radiation therapy possible as evidenced by our dual accreditations from ASTRO/Apex and ACR.

  • 1 Gamma Knife Icon

Our Radiation Oncologists are eligible to apply for academic appointments at The Mount Sinai Icahn School of Medicine commensurate with experience.  Each physician sees 4-6 new patient consults per week, manages 15-20 patients on-treatment, sees follow-ups as needed (supported by our Nurse Practitioner) and participates in Gamma Knife and SRS/SBRT treatment supervision. 

POSITION DETAILS

  • Full Time, Monday to Friday, with an anticipated 1 in 4 call schedule, shared equally

QUALIFICATIONS

  • An MD or equivalent degree
  • Successfully completed a residency in Radiation Oncology
  • Board certification in Radiation Oncology
  • At least 1 year of post graduate work experience
  • Existing or Eligibility for New Jersey Medical License, DEA and CDS required
