Education Debt Reduction Program (Student Loan Repayment): This position may be eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan reimbursement program. To participate in the program, you must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA Policy 1021 and submit your application within four months of appointment. The final award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) is determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services office. Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)

The Geriatrics & Palliative Care physician will:

  • Provide clinical care and oversee the education of residents, fellows, and medical students.
  • Provide quality care to both inpatients and outpatients for adults 18-65 and older adults age 65+
  • Demonstrate sound decision-making skills, both clinical and administrative
  • Serve as staff attending for sub-specialty consult service as assigned
  • Systematically evaluate patient care programs in all Medicine venues
  • Develop the initial plan of care and update plan as needed
  • Identify acute/non-acute/chronic health problems

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm with occasional on-call assignments
