Sinai Health Systems at Chicago is searching for a full-time faculty member for Trauma Surgery/Surgical Critical Care Service.
Mount Sinai Hospital is a one of five state designated level one adult trauma center in the city of Chicago, located on the west side of with roughly 3000 trauma patients seen annually. Trauma cases include blunt trauma, head injuries, orthopedic trauma, with about 30 penetrating trauma cases.
This individual will provide clinical care in trauma and surgical critical care. The Provider will contribute to patient care, medical education, and scholarship. Other duties will include teaching and supervision of trainees and students, and scholarly activity.
Ideal candidates should be comfortable operating independently on penetrating trauma with residents; be patient centered with excellent communication skills and a collaborative team player. Candidates should have a strong commitment to teaching residents and have an interest in doing research.
The institution has a general surgery residency program that can matriculate 4 categorical general surgery residents per year. The Department of Surgery Residency Program at Mount Sinai is fully accredited by the Association of American Medical Colleges and the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education and is affiliated with The University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago.
