Schedule: 7-10, 24-hour shifts/month 
Call: 24/7 call coverage  
Details: Critical Access Hospital 
  • ICU Beds: none at this time  
  • Emergency Department Beds: 4  
  • Swing/Acute Beds: 13 
  • Average Daily Census: 2 
  • Avg. Weekly Admissions: 5 
  • Average Weekly Discharges: <1 
  • Avg LOS: 3.1, including swing bed. Acute – 2.5, swing bed – 10.0 
  • Average Encounters per day: 15 
  • Swing Bed rounding: every 3rd day mandatory, but eyes on patient daily  
Staffing Mix: Number of Nursing Units: 2 – ED and Med/Surg 
Subspecialty Support: Cardiology on Wednesdays in the OP clinic 
EMR: Cerner  
ER Volume: 12 patients per day 
Procedures: intubations, Central Lines, Paracentesis and Thoracentesis
Mostly sending patients out via helicopter  
No RT currently  
Experience + Qualifications 
  • Board Certified 
  • Ability to perform full scope of Emergency Medicine and Inpatient Medicine 
  • Must be able to do all procedures 
  • Active OK License or the ability to obtain

  • On-site call room accommodations provided  
    • A provider sleep room with private bathroom and shower, located in an empty unit of the facility. There is a full/queen size bed, provider lockers, close entry from outside and designated parking. A phone is in the sleep room. 
    • There are two different spaces for the providers. There is a charting room in the ER, away from the nurse’s station, that also has a bed and refrigerator for a private resting space if unable to leave the ER. Another space is a charting office near the provider sleep room described above.
