The Emergency Medicine Department seeks a Full-Time Geriatrics Emergency Medicine Physician to join the Mount Sinai Hospital department of Emergency Medicine.   

We are seeking Geriatrics trained, but will consider equivalent experience within EM or noted operational leadership experience. This role will function as the Associate Medical Director supporting leadership and site goals geared toward establishing an effective Geriatrics unit. As a Level 1 Geriatric Emergency Medicine Center, you will oversee all Geriatric-related initiatives including building a team of specialists that will ensure all older patients receive well-coordinated, quality care. 

Mount Sinai is a recognized Geriatric ACEP center.  Our goal is to ensure the special needs and issues relating to the care and treatment of the elderly emergency department patient are met. You will play a critical part in the creation of a friendly environmental design of the for Geriatrics patient care. This position will lead the vision and operational guidance for the construction of this division within ED

The Department of Emergency Medicine is committed to excellence in emergency clinical care, education, and research. Our Department is one of the largest in the country, affiliated with Elmhurst Hospital Center, trauma center, affiliated with Mount Sinai Urgent Care Network & is part of NYCs public health system.  The Emergency Medicine Service Line has more than 200 faculty and treats more than 500K patients annually.

As of 2020, the Icahn School of Medicine Department of Emergency Medicine is ranked among the top five (5) academic emergency departments among medical schools in the United States in National Institutes of Health funding.

 Position Qualifications:

  • Medical Degree from an Accredited University
  • New York Medical License
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Emergency
  • Geriatrics trained (will consider equivalent experience within EM or noted operational leadership experience)
