The Central Alabama VA Medical Center - Tuskegee, is seeking full-time board certified/board eligible Psychiatrist to join our Mental Health Team. Actively recruiting generalist and specialist psychiatrist across a wide range of clinical settings. CAVHCS provides health services to Veterans throughout central Alabama and west-central Georgia.
Psychiatrist will function as a highly skilled, independent care provider in the management of patients with behavioral health problems; carry a caseload and provide consultation to Behavioral Health, Primary Care, and other clinical programs within the VA Healthcare system, community agencies, and other clinicians caring for our veterans; be responsible to one or more Behavioral Health programs either on the main campus or at outlying clinics associated with the Tuskegee VA Healthcare Center (Columbus, Dothan, Fort Benning, Fort Rucker & Monroeville), and may participate in Tele-psychiatry duties.
VA Central Alabama Healthcare System – Tuskegee & Montgomery has teaching hospitals that provide a full range of health services for Veterans, with state-of-the-art technology as well as education and research. VACAHS serves more than 49,000 Veterans in a 39-county area that covers central Alabama and parts of western Georgia, with over 433,00 outpatients visits per year. Services include outpatient primary care, outpatient mental health, specialty care, substance abuse residential rehabilitation, Home-Based Primary Care (HBPC), HUD/VASH (VA Supported Housing), and Compensated Work Therapy (CWT) programs.
